Adam Raccoon and the Circus Master, by Glen Keane, illus. by Glen Keane
The Adam Raccoon books teach important moral lessons
about obedience. Adam Raccoon and the Circus Master stresses the importance
of trusting God to provide for everything one needs. In this story, Adam is attracted
to the bright lights and excitement of the circus, but he finds it empty and vain. We have enjoyed these stories as good teaching opportunities with our children. 46 pages |
The BIG Green Book of Beginner Books, by Dr. Seuss, illus. by Various
This book is a collection of Dr. Seuss stories including:
Great Day for Up, Would You Rather Be a Bullfrog?,
I Wish That I Had Duck Feet, Wacky Wednesday,
Maybe You Should Fly a Jet! Maybe You Should Be a Vet!,
and I Am NOT Going to Get Up Today. I don't own a lot of this kind
of compilation, but this one has one of my favorites from my childhood,
I Wish That I Had Duck Feet, which teaches that just being yourself
is the best thing that you can be. 254 pages |

Oh Say Can You Say?, by Dr. Seuss, illus. by Dr. Seuss
This book is excellent exercise for your tongue.
Oh Say Can You Say? is filled with tongue-twisters that even an adult
will have trouble getting his or her tongue around. Some of the tongue-twisters
in this book can be made into a game to see who can say it first, fastest, etc.
This is a very fun read! 38 pages |
Once There Were Giants, by Martin Waddell, illus. by Penny Dale
This is a book about growing up; about the "circle of
life". Once there were "giants" in a little girl's house, but she grew up and
had a little girl of her own, and now SHE is the giant. This is a delightful
tale for both parents and children. I like books that can be seen from both sides;
this book is one of them. A good book for your children's library. 24 pages |
